Spotlight on Amazonite

Amazonite is a variety of potassium feldspar named after the Amazon River.  It ranges from 6.0 – 6.5 on the Mohs hardness scale.  It has been used in jewelry for at least 3,000 years.  Amazonite comes in many colors including grey, white, tan, brown, blue, and green.  Most often it is greenish-blue or blueish-green.  Amazonite is believed to calm anxiety and bring clarity and has been referred to as the “hope” stone.

We offer several beautiful bracelets featuring amazonite.
